Thoughts on this police knife

Hi thanks for letting me join.
I picked up this police knife the length seams right and also the weight
I was told it’s from early 80s and is one of a kind. Sorry it’s not in best shape few blemishes please let my know your thoughts about it

Sal really needs to see if this is a prototype Police or not.
The scales and blade appear to be a laminated steel, if my monitor is accurate?

This would be a red flag alone.

The clip is strange, and the pivot is a removable one...

I am thinking that it might be a "liberated" proto that Sal might be missing from years ago, if it is genuine.

Either way, truth will come out at some stage?

I would say totally bogus. It mimics the shape and lock placement of the second generation that came out around 1989. Sal has told us the Police came from a request for "a Mariner with a point" and it shows in the first generation C07. That looks to be someone's homage at best.
