Great, that was my thinking as well. Had figured it would appear more polished rather than a brownish polish. Whether or not your Chaparral LW is a fake is hard to say. It's hard to tell from the one pic. If it makes you feel any better, I've not heard of any fake Chaparral LWs or any Chaparrals for that matter.
