I don't know if this one has been posted yet but I noticed it when I was checking out tap78s Pingo post.

Looks like it must be a slip-joint.

Unlike the fake "titanium" Pingo, whose product description says the handle is actually stainless steel, this one claims to have an actual titanium handle. As much as I find these fakes annoying, I'm sure Spyderco finds it even more so.

They also have fake:

Rubicon (doesn't appear to have a lock or any backspring for a slipjoint, so I have no idea how the blade stays open): http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Custom-W ... 2a2d&tpp=1

K2: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/LDT-Bran ... 2a2d&tpp=1

Domino: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/LDT-C172 ... 2a2d&tpp=1

Para 2 (this guy also says he can make you clones of any knife you want): http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Custom-W ... 2a2d&tpp=1

Tenacious (again, no locking mechanism that I can see): http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Grady-Fu ... d80b&tpp=1

Civilian: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Grady-Fu ... 9c22&tpp=1

I could go on and on. The Stretch 2, Southard, Millie, Caly 3...it's absolute madness.

I bet you're right. I saw the lock bar pivot setup like the Native 5 Titanium & G10 and automatically assumed the knife had a lock. Now, after reading reading your comment and looking at my SAK Cadet, it makes sense that the knife would be a slip-joint.

None of them are slipjoints, aside from the Pingo clone - Aliexpress (apparently) has a policy now they don't allow sales of lock-knives due to a recent rise in knife crimes in China. So the sellers make sure you can't see the locking mechanisms of the stuff they're selling. Look closely and you'll see either a judicious thumb placed over where a lock should be or either crude or skilled photo manipulation going on.

Other Chinese sellers such as DHGate don't seem to adhere to this policy - no idea why not - and they openly advertise the sale of lock-knives of all sorts.

That's interesting and would explain why the photos look kinda odd.

I saw this as well. Last time the seller had several fakes. Even more he had on the last line of descriptions that the knives high quality replicas. I took time to report to e-bay about all of them. Ebay did nothing. :(

I know...old thread. But all the original links are now dead and I'm looking for photos of fake fluted natives so I don't accidentally purchase one. Anyone have a pic of what to look for?
