Rare Rescue?

"SPYDERCO C14 RESCUE KNIFE W/RED/BLACK HANDLE VERY RARE"

Looks like somebody's "pimp" job to me. Did Spyderco ever do this kind of work?

What do you think/know?

Unfortunately, not yet. Money has been tight. :o

I'm hoping to get it on Friday after I get paid. :p

If they still have it. (I need to find a better paying job!) :(

All I have been able to do this week, is trades.

I believe those were done by Smokey Mountain, after the barrel bolt version of the Rescue was introduced, but am not 100% sure. I know they are considered a legitimate variant by at least some collectors. You might want to drop UK Ken an email. I've seen one in his collection, so I'm sure he'd know the history of it.

I thought it was Blue Ridge Knives but could very well have been Smokey Mountain.I myself wouldn't consider them any more valuable, in fact, they would lessen the value for me.
We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.
