Hi Mac,

Thanx much for your thoughts. It's really far more complicated than first look appears. There are already many laws on the books. That's what keeps our government busy.....making laws. Unfortunately these laws are not easily enforced. It also keeps our attorneys busy.

Disgusting. There's got to be a way around this. We need more enforcement of (some) government regulations ;)

This seller shows the China factory. Not sure if the info is accurate.
http://www.dhgate.com/product/high-qual ... 1272205250

Casual search Spyderco C10 on this site yields 4 pages. Some claim 'clone' blatantly, but some stated OEM. Some list the steel as 8Cr18MoV, some as VG10, some ZDP 189.
They even rockwell test the blades, shown on some items, but not the one quoted.

Hope this helps Spyderco works with the China representative about this issue.

Hope I'm in the right place to report this. Apologies if I'm not. New to the forum & huge Spyderco fan. Thank you for making such awesome knives. :)

Up until the past day or so, ebay seller wo34911 has had a bunch of fake Spyderco knives for sale, mostly Militaries and Civilians, iirc. It looks like he's removed all of his knife auctions for now, but you can still see what he's been selling from his feedback profile.

I can't believe how many people seem to either not realize or not care that the knife they bought was counterfeit and left positive feedback.

Hi, my first post. Looks to be a bogus Military on a Czech site that looks like a normal store and the price is full retail. I wonder if these guys realize what they're selling?

I just bought two PM2s, one from Amazon and one from knifecenter.com, can't tell if one or the other is real or fake. I posted a video (sorry for the focusing issues) on youtube, can someone tell me if either of these are legit? thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum smody121, the one on top looks legit, the one on the bottom looks suspicious, bar code looks off on bottom one, we would need to see some high res pics of the knifes to call it.
Happy to be part of this great forum and group of down to earth spyderco addicts, Thanks Sal and gang.

hey guys,

i'm about to pick up a spyderco c36 military model in s110V Purple via ebay from outfitter country.
your recent discussions about fakes from their store concern me a bit.
a handful friends of mine bought knives from outfittercountry and these knives all seem genuine.

any concerns about buying a S110V blurple millie from them?
shipping to europe (+ customs) from any other company (like knifecenter) is just outrageous

kind regards

No idea if the S110V Military has been counterfeited yet, but IMHO, if there have been documented cases of a given store selling fake Spyderco knives, then it's only reasonable to have concerns about any and every Spyderco that store is selling. Personally, I'd avoid them like the plague on general principles, even if I was 100% sure it was a model where no counterfeits exist. However, I realize that's easy for me to say because I'm in the US.

Thanks Paul for the reply,

i haven't read about anything confirmed yet.
are there ways to tell for sure?
i own a military model from 2010 (along about 10 genuine other models) and the knife held up pretty well.
fakes havent been an issue at the time so i could compare, i suppose.
