It is my opinion anything bought off of Aliexpress is a fake or infringes on someone else's IP. But like The Dude says "that's just like my opinion, man."

There is the seller "AIbusiness" on Amazon. They do not state that the knives are Spydercos but the designs are strongly inspired by Spyderco.

https://www.amazon.de/sp?marketplaceID= ... chant_link
There are a lot of knock-off Spydercos. Here are some examples:

https://www.amazon.de/Klappmesser-Tasch ... s&sr=1-216
https://www.amazon.de/Stilvoll-Klappmes ... s&sr=1-217
https://www.amazon.de/Stilvoll-Klappmes ... s&sr=1-219
https://www.amazon.de/Klappmesser-Tasch ... ms&sr=1-21
https://www.amazon.de/Geschenk-Stilvoll ... s&sr=1-115

Not sure if this is useful information, but I thought, why not share here?

I think these are branded counterfeits, looks like he bought à lot of em on aliexpress and is trying to profit from them.

Hello, I am new to the Spyderco knife scene and ordered one of the Tenacious knives from Cabela’s since they were listed as an authorized dealer and didn’t want a fake. I received the knife today and a few things seem off. Can someone tell me if I am misunderstanding these details?

Blade has an etching in the shape of an E on the back side. The package was in a blister pack and not boxed. Knife feels nice and opens well, but wanted to check with the gurus to see of the overall placement of things is correct.

Thanks in advance,
Jake

Dear Jake:

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum.

Your knife is authentic. The "clamshell" packaging is done for big retailers like Cabela's because it's easier for them to display the product. The "E" on the reverse side of the blade is Eric Glesser's designer's mark.

Stay safe,

Mike

Can anyone tell me whether my Titanium Military is real or fake? I bought it used off of ebay from a seller with good feedback. I know I probably shouldn't have because it wasn't straight from an authorized dealer. The box and the quality of the knife seem pretty close to authentic in my eyes. The grind lines on the blade really make me doubt it's authenticity though. Would the best thing be to send it in to Spyderco and have them look it over?
Thanks

Wondering where these came from, and how to tell them apart from legit shaman. I do like to buy second hand quite often, clean them up and then resell or gift to coworkers as users. I'd really hate to unknowingly pass on a clone.

Saw those too... sad. Two things that stood out to me are the font/typography on the 'Spyderco/CPM S30V' engraving, and the lack of counterbore for the button head screws in the scales.

They come from the big websites we are used to see selling counterfeits. Apparently they now produce a ton of fake shamans and smocks.

Not a fake, but a clear Yojimbo2 Rip-off with round hole opener from Black Mamba Knives.
Probably cant do anything to the sellers, but maybe you can get Amazon to pull the page.

There's now swayback counterfeits, and Smock + Shaman (we already knew about those 2).

Hey y'all, quick question!

Anyone ever heard of or came across a "forum knife 2018" pm2 fake?
From what I could gather on spotting fakes it seems to pass( jimping, logo, screws, etc), it does however have carbon fiber scales as apposed to the inlayed g10 scales iv seen in other photos of the same knife.
So yeah, I'll post pics if get any responses on this question.

Thanks y'all

Dear cfaber:

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum. The knife in your photos dates back to about 1998-1999. It's probably legit, just old.

Stay safe,

Mike
