Spyderco autonomy turtle rescue today

#1

Post by endgame »

I was speerfishing for tautog this morning when I came across a green turtle caught up in keflar fishing line.he was swiming but had, allot of crap caught in the line.was able to cut him free with only a small wound on his right back flipper.didnt stay to say thank you split out like a bullet.but autonomy opened perfectly underwater was able to cut close with out harm.I got a chomp sent my way a few times from him mouth but if he wanted to bight me he could have so I just think the line was hurting him.he was very large about 250#, he must have been carring it for months allot of growth.he was just tired and ready to wash up.I got a aplouse but went back spearing.could have done it with anyknife but used my new autonomy.worked perfect.I am guessing green turtle cause it was big.so do not keep me to that.it was at shark river inlet nj loads of witneses.

Nicely done!!
A tiger has claws.
A wolf has teeth.
An eagle has talons.
We, have Spyderco.

Thanks rhis autonomy is worth every penny of the 209$ I spent.so far its gone under salt water a couple times no rust or problems.it opens solidly underwater with a thwacking sound that scares the fish away fast.lol.when speerfishing I look for things to cut around the jetty rocks just so I can use it.spyderedge is the best and sharpest serrated blade edge of any knife.this will help out the coasties to no end.definitely worth the award.great job sal and eric.there is a sea turtle of the jersey shore going to send you a thank you card.lol
