Micro spyderfly?
Micro spyderfly?
Anyone else think it would be cool if spyderco made a pocket sized balisong. Like 2 15/16" closed, maybe even smaller?

Cool possibly, as a novelty item. "Flipable" might be another story. I will admit I'm not a balisong person but one that small does not seem very practical. But even if I'm wrong, I still don't think it would be viable for Spyderco from a business perspective. They are forced to play by a set of rules which would only allow them to be sold to law enforcment and active duty military personnel "for use in the performance of their duties". That's not very likely for something as impractical as a mini-bali. My advice if you want to flip something small, get a BaliYo, it's a good inch bigger but still fairly small.

I thought that an Auto was legal in california, as long as the blade was under 2", right?RJNC wrote:Good point I didn't even think of the legal aspect.
Would this also apply with bali's?
Personally, I'd love a 2" bali, even if it's not very flippable. I just love the simplicity of the design and the elegant solution to the problem on all folding knives (the part that keeps the blade open :D )
Now, if :spyder: could make something like the cricket-bali, and make it legal, I would buy more of those than the Deac has kiwi's
