Those scales are nice Rick!
Thank you! Someday I'm going to have one in tool steel with burlap micarta too, someday... lol

Had Spyderco shipped the Smock wearing similar scales, I would have purchased one despite my dislike of the blade notch. Thankfully for my wallet, they shipped it with their standard Amish suit.

Yours looks fantastic and I love seeing it in your photos.

Thank you! The blade notch isn't so bad once you get used to it, I don't think I'd be willing to give up the button lock to get rid of it.

Here’s one of my modded Smocks. It’s an s30v blade with jade g10 scales off of my m4 Smock that have been dyed with Rit DyeMore Sapphire Blue. I also chopped the blade and handle, and made the blade notch into a usable finger choil. I also added Skiff bearings, heat colored the hardware to bronze, and added a bronze anodized titanium clip that I made.

I’m planning to do a similar thing with my m4 Smock but with some burgundy micarta scales. I’ll share that one here too when it’s done :)

Wow! This looks great, Casper! Would you care to share a little info on how you fabricated the larger finger choil?
