Spyderco Engraving by Joanne Ryall

Post by Joanne-Ryall-Engraver »

Hi folks,

Some people are Plumbers & some, Electricians. Me...? I scratch metal! (and love it) :)

I’m also new to the forum, so thought I’d introduce myself with Cricket that I recently completed engraving.

Joanne,

Defining that sunning example as mere scratching metal diminishes your talent...! Your are truly an artisan with stellar skills!

Welcome to the forum :)

And amazing work on that Cricket!
I own a few engraved Spydies, but they're definitely not all to such standards!

Lovely work! Think I saw it on Facebook the other day.

Welcome. I really like the contrast of square lines withal the curves on an oval knife. Very cool.
- best wishes, Jazz.

Welcome & Happy New Year.
That is an excellent level of scratching that you've done. I wonder how this would look on one of our titanium models?

Thank you. 😊

Titanium would work well I think. A good level of contrast is often achieved with Titanium! πŸ‘

A nice candidate for titanium would be the Spyderco McBee. It's small size would make it perfect pocket jewelry.

That's the one with all the holes I believe.
Not really as ideal as a plain canvas, but it's certainly a consideration. Thank you!

Holy cow, Joanne.
I've scratched a lot of things in my time: car doors, iPhone faces, table tops, but none have come out looking like your work. I was going to ask you to share some pictures of your tools, work in progress, etc., but I just discovered your web page. I'll be browsing around there this morning. Thanks for sharing your work.

Thank you so much for your kind compliment RustyIron! 😁

It would seem that whilst your scratchings might not be as pretty as mine, they are quite extensive!
My congratulations on your efforts & diligence!
