I was on the night shift training troops who are in the field and came across a trip flare during a safety patrol. It nearly went off, thankfully I felt the wire against my shin- you'll see the pin nearly came out so this was a pure luck moment. My PM2 helped me disarm it as I used it to trace/cut the wire. Lol close call.
Also I'm in the Canadian Forces, picture was taken because I suspected my buddy set it up and wanted to post it on the group chat to shame him. Last picture is after the wire is cut, and the tripflare is made safe. I had redlight, the flash on my iPhone lit up picture.
