Let's see your pictures in grayscale. If there's a little color that's fine (see my Techno pic for an example).

Delica 4 Titanium/Damascus in b&w; I like how the concrete staining mimics the damascus.

Techno in b&w; I selected the blue G10 back spacer in Photoshop and left it in color to dramatize the grayscale of the rest of the image.

It's a pretty powerful, free graphics editing program that has a filter to do what you did in your image.
