I think part of what turns me off about the Native is actually a lighting artifact. The bevel on the spine often disappears in pictures, making the knife look like it has an abrupt grind through what should be a graceful curve. The dark blue native above shows the effect and the cure so to say; the spine bevel appears dark such that the “bright” part of the blade shows an unappealing grind; but when the light shows the bevel at the same brightness, it looks right/better etc. Kobold’s picture lights up the whole spine.

I agree with you on that, I've always found out to like it more in hand than in pictures. The swedge is way more defined IRL, while in picture the different angle of reflection can make it disappear or just look less defined. I found this to be true of the Shaman too. I got the Z-wear sprint because in my mind it was THE version to have, and after feeling and using it I appreciate it much more. It has caused me to think about a Native.
