I flipped through this thread, does anyone have / could anyone post a Native 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 side-by-side, it seems like a useful one to have posted but I don't have them all...

Here you go, sorry for the crappy light, but it's already dark around here... :(
Natives in 1,2,3,4,5 and 5LW.

Thank you so much for posting these! I've never held a Native4 before but it looks almost identical to the 5... of the rest though I honestly prefer the 3 for how it feels in my hand, the ergos just work for me. Would love to see more pics if you care to post. TA!!

Cheers,

John

Here are some better photos, or at least with better light.

The Native 4 was a pre-sketch of the 5, but it has some subtle differences, aside of the country of origin, like the lack of jimping on the top of the blade and it’s a bit slimmer than the Native 5. Also the blade of the 4 (3mm) is thinner than the one in the 5 (3.2mm).

I agree with you, the most comfortable in hand is the Native 3 thanks to its contoured handle. And as a curiosity, I think the Native 3 is the only Native that show the Sal’s signature, it is in a little place under the clip screw.

Again, thank you, these are super helpful... I am left with a reinforced idea that the Native 3 had way better ergos (for my wide paws at least) than it seems to be credited with, I wonder if others feel the same. I've got an auto-search set up for the Native3 on eBay and would like to pick up another couple but man they don't come up often. Again, Thank You!

Cheers,

John

Spy27 Native 5
Been carrying one for a few weeks now. It has given me a renewed appreciation for the Native. Also liking SPY27 so far.
Because desolate places allow us to breathe. And most people don't even know they're out of breath.

Good to hear. Yes, Spy27 holds a decent edge for my uses and touches up easily on the Sharpmaker.
