VG10 is highly resistant to staining and rust so you wont have much success doing that :p

I'm too lazy to put a polished edge on a knife I have to sharpen often because that's my most used knife. :D

It's at 30° finished at 400 grit moldmaster. I strop it with a used sander belt on wood to touch it up.

The Morris Friction Folder is a truly well made functional pocket knife :) It is amazingly lightweight, considering the 4.5 mm thick blade, the Micarta handle wears really good and gives you a nice grip, the adjustments (F&F) are superb, actually it is quite stiff for a Friction Folder. You can ask for a Sheath Custom Made by Michael Morris for this model, and it's always a good idea to carry a Friction Folder in a Sheath when you have it in your pocket. The actual cost/benefit relation is one of the best in the market.

AFAIK, the Morris Friction Folder is one of the most beloved pocket knives at the British Blades Forums. There are plenty of reasons for that. I can tell! :D

I saw a great patina over on EDCF that came from sticking a knife in an onion. The rings of the onion left little arcs on the blade. Pretty cool, IMO.

ZDP189 doesn't take a patina per se, it's more a staining then pitting process.

ZDP189 vs Super Blue:

Both have seen equal pocket time and mainly get used for food prep and light EDC work.

I do love the belly of the Caly 3 for food prep, but I like the extra reach of the Caly 3.5

I really like the subtle purple on the right side it looks so majestic. Getting in a Caly 3 SB this weekend too, I'll give it some kitchen time and see how it turns out. My 3.5 has what started out as an onion patina underneath and now its getting more colours on top of that as I've been using it more and more in the kitchen. Mostly cutting up more onions and beef to make curry.
