Re: Show Your Patina!
Thanks! That was very easily done. Vinegar soaked paper towel for about 3 hours. That patina line does look a little darker in that photo than it actually is right now though, still looks good though! I've used it around the warehouse and home here and there and it hasn't messed with it too badly from when it was forced on.

Re: Show Your Patina!
Not the best photo, but here's a variety -- some easy to darken; others very difficult.
--1095
--Z-wear PM
--CPM-M4
--D2 Solo shots of the Z-carta Shaman... As most know, Z-wear PM is far more difficult to force a patina than these others. and one more of my dark green RIT-dyed Native V (BladeHQ M4/mint-green FRN)

Re: Show Your Patina!
Thank you much . I have a few touch ups I have noticed I will work on tomorrow. I did notice light plays tricks with the Patina where it looks bare but actually covered . My wife thought I had gone crazy until I finished , then said oooh pretty . So with her seal of approval I posted ! Dan

Re: Show Your Patina!
@Manixguy@1994 --- Dan, how are your liners? I have been on the fence as to getting a K390 Stretch 2. While the blade & ergos are great, the rather roughly-finished liners I have seen present a corrosion point (esp. under them) that has thus far kept me from pulling the trigger.

Re: Show Your Patina!
To be honest this knife has not been taken apart. I taped off scales before application. I did use flashlight and could see no issues . Jeff has a K390 Endura and taking apart found no issues. I have only had this knife less than a month so I may not be best person to give you an appropriate answer . Have you done a search? There might be some information on this subject or maybe ask in General. A lot of members have K390 . Re: Show Your Patina!
Yes I'm familiar with the search function -- I've been on the forum for a while. I was asking about your experience (every user is a new data point). Experiences with liners seem to vary -- esp. between those coming from the factory with a higher polish vs. those with a more brushed finish. The SS material used seems to vary as well. I was previously unaware that you didn't take your knife apart (I always disassemble mine when I force a patina/acid etch), but thanks for sharing.Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 1:58 pmTo be honest this knife has not been taken apart.
