Dragonfly - show the love!

#1

Post by Mocean »

Having been away from the knife game for a few years I accidentally started browsing knife forums again and the sickness is back.

I wanted something to replace my SOG Microdot that really served me well for 16 years on my key chain.

After much research I came up with this beauty (and now also have a Manix 2, Cat and Ladybug, **** sickness!!).

I don't seem to see too much love for this knife, or perhaps it's just old news to everyone now.

I love the feel of the G10, the stainless steel back and lock and that blade that just cuts and cuts. What an excellent knife. (Now if I could just get a G10 Ladybug for my keyring!)

Great forum anyway people, very informative and I look forward to contributing.

No pics, but mine is my pocket right now. I switch it out for a DF2 PE or H1DF SE regularily. This knife has handles pretty much everything thrown at it. LIked it so much I gifted one to my father.

Great thread idea! When I get down to the river and take some pics, I'll contribute. Nice pics!

Doesn't get much love!? The D'fly is the perennial LBK favorite! I've got one in my pocket right now as well. The G10 model is fantastic.

One of the best little big knives ever made, and quite possible my favorite spyder. (I used to say it was my outright favorite, now I have too many loves!)

The green G-10 Dragonfly Spydie was one of my first Spyerdco Knives I bought. I think it is a great little big knife and everyone should own one.

Haha, well maybe I'll just shut my mouth! I am happy to see the Dragonfly fans popping up, lets get some more pics happening. I'll have to get some of my old serrated Dragonfly that the dog chewed on when she was a puppy.

RWB1500, great shot.

Great pics Mocean! The g10 D'fly was my first :spyder: , and I still love it, it doesn't get much use anymore, now that my para2 has taken over my EDC knife... It's a great LBK for the money, and everyone should at least try one!

I'm looking for a spyderedge FRN version to augment my EDC so I hope to join the club soon. (If I can't find a deal on the DF I might buy the closest thing which is the Byrd Robin.)

I very much prefer the SE, it just keeps cutting and cutting and cutting.....

I've even purchased other Spydies with SE blades, that I've already owned with PE blades. I still love a plain edge, but the Spyderco serrated edges are awesome cutters.

My original Dragonfly. While I prefer knives with a plain edge, this little guy was wonderful during a recent move. Excellent for ripping through string, packing tape, cardboard etc.

Grew up in country Australia so always had a knife in my pocket. Ended up moving to Tokyo, kind of lost the need to carry one, but always had a key chain knife which did the job.

Nice, thanks for contributing. I'm thinking about getting the H1 Yellow Dragonfly for my fishing box.

I just posted this one, I love the fact that the 'fly is now much more leftie-friendly.

Great pic Mr Blonde, Im a fellow leftie also. I really like your site also, I actually frequented that before I found the Spyderco forums. You have some great photos.
