Updated! Post 16

I decided to do some mods to my para, let me know what you think :D

Step 1 for me was to disassemble the blade and clean the G10 scales...

Mr. Clean worked like a dream!

Then I boiled water and added the dye...

Very nice, not a huge fan of the stonewash (to each his own) but looks like you did a really good job on it. Handle scales are fantastic.

what is it the kids say? Very Bueno or something? Cool stuff, I'm diggin it a lot.
...I have no knives I keep in a safe but there are one or two that don't leave the house...

thanks for the replies!

does anyone know a good place or person that sharpens knives? ive spent over an hour working on this knife with the sharpmaker, and i still cant cut paper

Nice work--it looks great! I'm wondering how those gray scales would have reacted to some bleach prior to dying them? You know, attempting to get them to a near white before using the dye. Was red the color of the dye you used or was it another color that combined with the gray and turned out red? The stone wash looks good with those new red scales! I like![/CENTER]

Spyderco is pretty good at sharpening knives. I would probably try them first, then Richard J.

I'm regretting even more my decision to pass on the 20CP Para 2. I hated the light gray scales because they become grungy looking so quickly. RIT solves that problem and I love the shade of red you achieved!
