Thx for the nice comments, I'm trying to deliver the best pics I can and sometimes I get it right it seems :)
Your feedback helps a lot! Most of the times I'm not satisfied with my own pics but as you mentioned this close up is good :)

Thx for the nice comments!!

My MO is take a good base pic. Sharpness, exposure and composition have to be OK on the camera preview screen. Then I add contrast and digitally sharpen a bit more in Photoshop.

One more to start the weekend in style :)

Good to hear that someone else likes to adjust contrast in PS. For a while, I thought I was the only Photoshopper around here... ;)

Do not fear, you are not alone :D

I don't like spending too much time in PS and doing too much to the image, but I can't live with the short comings of my Nikon camera and adjust those in PS.

Hi IG 88 I'm curious a lot of knives in your photos have the number 071v on them is this a first run number or something different? Many thanks dan

It's a collectors number from Spyderco's collectors club, "v" stands for variation.

Check out the "levels" tool in Photoshop. Also, if you want a more classic look, adjust the saturation down. If you want to adjust a black and white photo, "curves" helps a lot.

The Philips clip screws on that Starmate are interesting.

Yep, the "Levels Adjustment" layer is by far my most used tool in PSE. I also like the "Magic Wand" and "Lasso" tools to select parts of an image for specialized editing. For example, I often select the text and bug logo on the blade and darken them to make them show up better.

Not a bad idea.

I forget the method I used to use to allow the colors to let me cut things out, but that probably works good, too.

Hi IG-88, superb thread. It's easy to see you've put a lot of time and effort in. Living where you do, how do you source your Spydies? I live in the UK and sometimes struggle to find those grail knives. I love the older models, those Endura 1's are awesome. I've a few old Viele's and Centofante's, great great knives.

Hi,

Thx for the nice comments! We all face the same problem in Europe, prices are almost double compared to the US prices. Sometimes prices over here are really rediculous. So I get most direct from the US (Knifework, Cutlery Shopee,...) or through trades and sales through other collectors. Welcome in the European Spyderco Hunters Club :p .Happy hunting :)
