Natural patina from food prep on my work in progress Super Blue Mule. :
My SINISTER Gayle Bradley, with forced dark patina and rough stone wash:
What it looked like before I decided to go with the darker blade: Forced mustard patina, not too crazy about it:
I LOVE A GOOD PATINA Its one of the reasons why Im starting to really like non stainless steels!

His post says "forced patina". He probably used a ferric bath and then stonewashed. I only know because I am working on a few similar blade projects.rg02 wrote:forgive my me for being a noob, how did you GB owners get that finish on the m4 steel? arent you suppose to oil the blade and keep it clean to prevent that??? sorry in advance!

Well, I think it's time I show mine. :p
I've had slight pitting on the Spyderco logo side of the blade. I tried to get it off with some Super metal polish but no luck. I haven't seen any orange oxidation so I'm not panicking - yet. I've been making sure to coat the blade with Tuf Glide every other week.
I love that patina on the Sal logo side. I've cut a bunch of different foods with it but I think apples provide that really nice blue swirl patina.
