Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat. Theodore Roosevelt

After the few times opening it, I naturally go to the hole. The thumb post seems too far back that it doesn't open naturally for me. I do have longer thumbs though so anything farther away helps me.
I was not sure if i was going to get one of these but after seeing your pictures, I have to have one. Now i have to scrape together the cash. If i eat jam sandwiches, (two pices of bread jamed together) for the next week and use old t-shirts as diapers for my son, then im all set. :)
I got mine today also it is a beautiful knife I wad amazed how thick the blade stock is!!! I tried using the stud accouple times and I actually thought it worked quite well, thanks for the pics!!!!
Heavy, well built, great worksmanship.
I can't make it with the design, though. I keep looking for it, I just can't find it, maby later.
Glad you like it.
I think with that liner lock sticking from the handle it will be uncomfortable to hold . Maybe if it was sticking just a 1 or 2 mm it would have been great .
Smaller than I expected, thought it's going to be 4"+ blade. The clip holes on bolster are a shame, for me this is one of the times aesthetics trumps functionality.
Every once in a while there comes a Spyderco I would like to like but can't.
I am afraid this is one of those that just doesn't do it for me. Hard to put my finger on the exact reason why as I have a few knives where the hole seems somewhat added I do like and I didn't notice the lock before it was mentioned. Think the hole and stud combination confuses my brain and the overall design isn't really my cup of tea either.
Hope everyone that has or wants one will enjoy it and prove me wrong (again).

My sentiments too but since the valloton really doesn't call to me, it doesn't really matter too much to me.
