My very first Spydie...

A seminal moment in my life has come to pass.

((you can probably guess what the bandaid is for. ;) ))

I am absolutely in love with this thing. Even though it isn't the first Spydie I've ever handled (my bro's Tenacious, my uncle's old Police SS, and some random dude's Harpy being the others), I am....stunned, to say the least. I used it earlier to cut up a potato, and it just glid through like nothing.

Also, I've found that the CBBL lends itself to stupid fast deployment/undeployment. Just hold it down and flick it.

Samwise, congrats on your first Spydie. The Manix 2 was also my first Spyderco knife. I love it. It feels so natural in your hand and despite what others say, I love the weight of the knife. Now that you love this one get some of the sprint runs while you can. The FG CTS is a nice knife. I would love to have the Blue or Carbon fiber, but good luck finding one now.

Enjoy your knife.

I hear yah on the band-aid haha. First day I had my FFG Delica I sliced my finger open stupidly. Practicing all those tricky one handed midlock closing methods caught up to me. Price of messing around I guess, but now it is second nature so it was worth it.

How exactly did you get the cut? Opening/closing or just an accidental cut.

You should never have to ask yourself "do i really need another knife?" The answer is obvious...

Tried to close it against my leg and wasn't paying any attention.

It was just a little nick; didn't even notice it was bleeding until like 5 minutes after the fact.

Made a cheese 'n' veggie sammich with it. Probably the most fun I've ever had making a sammich.
