Just finished the PROTOTYPE set of Delica full contour scales. I've figured out how to texture map onto the 3D surface and these frag scales came out perfect!

Ok I see. Is it from the 90th you think or is it newer? I’ve seen other Q’s online and most of them with corporate logos and sush..

The one I had was from 94/95; had the Spyderco bug design in the blade. College girlfriend lost it at work :(

There is some information about the Q models on this page:

https://www.angelfire.com/trek/spyderwa/

From what I can tell it was made for Fred Meyers and 600 pieces were manufactured.

Oops, wrong fish. From Spydiewiki I can see that this was made for Rocky Mountain AB in 1997.

I did some chamfering on the scales of my Maxamet Pm2. It looks good, feels amazing in the hand. I wasn't too worried since it's a factory second.

I don't have the best short-term memory so I drop things a lot getting out of my car. It's usually something I used then sat in my lap only to forget and have it skid across the parking lot. Well the PM2 met that fate today and landed right on the thinnest possible part of the G10. It cracked, about 4mm long, right in the corner of the nested liner. I learned the hard way that a minimum thickness should be maintained for G10.

After more than a decade of machining knife scales for a select number of production folders I finally managed to learn the workings on the 3D design side of my CAD/CAM application. I stuck to the 2D and 2-1/2D side of things far too long as I was never able to find sufficient blocks of dedicated time to delve into 3D. The Covid pandemic had a beneficial impact with finding the necessary time blocks.

3D is a totally different animal... but I'm excited to have put in the effort!

Here are some examples of my 'toe in the water' results...
