Still practicing my scale making. I did the spider ones forst. The engraving didn't go as well as the second set. I found new techniques and bits.

And I'm not trying to be clever...Shank is my last name. I love that wood and that set came out so well. I can't wait to install them.

Nice work on those scales!
Curious how they'll look once installed ;)

I don't have the Domino. Am I mistaken or can you only install one scale? It looks like a frame lock. Anyway, what material are you looking for? G-10, wood, carbon fiber, micarta, or something else?

I am really liking something like this

http://cuscadi.de/spyderco-endura-haka/

Yes, the scale is only 1 side.

I might do a wood one, something dark.

That is really gorgeous. Dark with red tints also looks awesome with spydercos. I go for natural colors in the wood and avoid stains. I don't have the Domino, otherwise I'd do one for you. My work has improved quite a bit with some practice and better tools.

Steve Ketchen does amazing work and I'm sure could do Domino scales. You can find him on Instagram @spketch or Bladeforums (spketch).

Looks nice! Where are you from? I knew some Shanks, always thought it was a unique name.

Just finished up my Manix 2 S30v g10 mod today. Did the ceramic bearing conversion, and gave her some new scales and a matching lanyard bead. Materials were from theaddhaberdashery on etsy. Bought the manix specifically for this mod and am pretty happy with it. Also, just finished browsing 80 pages of this thread. Awesome work everyone!

That turned out great EDC, nice job, like the bead too.

Thank you! I usually don't find lanyards useful, but having the matching bead makes me want to have a lanyard on it. Saving another set of these awesome scale slabs for when we are finally able to get our hands on the PM3. Caly 3 is my favorite EDC, and I am hoping the PM3 will take its place :)
Also did a sage 1 in leopardwood. It is a knife from the seconds sale that had the tip broken off. I reprofiled the spine and gave it some leopardwood scales. Photos wont be as nice for this one.

Looks nice and clean, did you leave enough to still flip or is it just the spydie hole now? Pic closed?

Still possible but not reliably haha. I was thinking of sanding it flush, but I like how it protrudes when open so I'm probably gonna leave it as is
