I have been waiting almost a year for a DLC plainedge Native 5 blade to make an appearance so I can have this knife. Blade taken from a Cutlery Shoppe exclusive and swapped into a black handle.

Thanks guys. It was an easy one. Just a tad more point, yet still very Anso.

whats up first post.. just getting into spyderco
my byrd crow 2 with PB washers I pulled form an old ontario rat 2
also a leather shoelace lanyard with .22 brass for a crimp. i removed the lanyard tube and just put it around the standoff
i've also got a black tenacious clip on the way to see if i like it better

the knife feels like a much more expensive knife with the washers.. really a shame it ships with teflon since the rest of the knife is so good.

one thing if you plan on taking apart a crow.. use good tools and lots of heat because the screws are grade F chinesium. the pivot is also free spinning and has some sort of threadlocker on it (its white.. so not sure but it comes loose with some heat) so it's a pain to remove

Nice jobe ol_lukey. Using an old .22 shell for a crimp is a great idea.

BTW, He's not joking about the threadlocker. Here's the Byrd that I recently modded.

That's ridiculously excessive regardless of what color/strength the thread locker is.

I did it because I really like the yellow handles, but the lightness is awesome (not that I dislike the regular Delica handles at all).

It's not on my list of new knives for development. At first blush it doesn't look like as though it has enough real estate for doing much in the way of inlay or textures...
