Yeah, his work is awesome. And he's an incredibly friendly guy too. You'll be really happy with what you end up with.Clearcut wrote:Randy does awesome work, waiting for a response when i can send my m390 para to him i really like the rounded spine

Awesome
Hi Mr. Pneumothorax!
IMHO this is very nice. And I mean it. :) The original profile of the Techno is quite distinctive, and I guess it is made to make it easier when handeling very detailed cutting.
But your 'new' profile reminds me a lot the Leaf Blade on the Enuff Fixed Blade Series. A real hardcore user! :D

New Mangub scale
Quick pics of my last creation. Right now the other side has a black G-10 scale. I kind of like it with different scales. :) Just finished this one scale, need to do the other but getting new material today to work with. :)

Manbug-Sage4 set again
This is the same G-10 on the back side of the Manbug and Sage4 with a black scale on the opposite side of each knife. These scales are finished differently but it's the same G-10 color combination.

New Sage4 scales
G-10 black/orange layered scales. Left thicker than the bolster which is just a tiny bit less than 1/8" thick.

That's really cool! Now that I know its bamboo, I can see the seam right between the pivot and the end of the clip...Sweet wrote:Thanks TedP... the scales were made out of bamboo
Thanks BAL
How was that material to work with? I can't help but have visions of trying to joint and glue up an huge stack of chopsticks...

The cool thing about grinding out scales from bamboo, it's grass it smells good. Bamboo is hard stuff and on the Janka Rating it's at 1650 where Back Walnut is at 1010, White Oak is 1360 and Purple Heart rates at 2090 a bit harder than bamboo... bamboo, for those who follow "green friendly" is considered a renewable resource... Thanks for your vision... :D
