I did a little tuning on the Spyderco Manix 15V. I replaced the tube with a new one made of titanium, the lock is made of brass, I removed the metal ball and replaced it with a ceramic one, I replaced the bolts with black ones and put a new clip made of titanium. I had a spring that wasn't as stiff as the original but I didn't like how it worked with it and kept the original spring. I can't say anything specific about the steel except that the knife is perfectly sharpened and downright frighteningly sharp. Otherwise, the clearances are not perfectly centered, the mechanics are a bit stiff, but after the tuning, everything is perfect.

Not sure it's my best idea since this knife has the most chips in it out of my collection. It was my daily for awhile and I tried to take care of it but it got abused more than I wanted it to. After sharpening it so much it was getting a little fat BTE and I decided to try and thin it out with stones. Still needs some work. I've taken about .005" per side so far.

I did put a clip from a Böker knife on my Lil' Native.
The feet needed some dremeling to fit into the G10 grooves.
Seems to have better ergonomics for me and it does not bend over because of the flat feet.

On a side note:
Spyderco deep carry wire clips should be like on the Para 3 LW or UKPK: continuous 180°-bend.
The other wire clips (Watu, Chaparral, Lil Native ...) have a more pronounced 90°-bend which feels a bit more hot-spotty for me on some models.

They're really nice! I love that they delete the liners, the manix was too bulky and heavy for me otherwise. Now it's maybe not as feather light as the frn scales but almost!

Here’s the latest chop I’ve come up with for the Shaman, Bombshell style! It’s almost the exact same length now as the Bombshell but has more handle/less blade because of the finger choil. I’ve been carrying it for the last two days since I did the chop and really love the size and feel of it.

The clip is a custom one that I made for this knife before the chop, so I went ahead and used the original Shaman hole pattern.
