Thank you for the kind words Remnar. The moment the Maxamet Mule is available I'll have 2 on the way. I'm already working out some scale options for them now. :D :D I'm leaning toward the black C-tek and copper on one of them and the OD green G-10 with silver CF and GID stripe on the other, but I haven't decided for sure yet.

My Maxamet Mules with smoothed Halpern Scales. One set is Blue/Black G10, and the other is the "Heritage Brown" (Walnut) Dymondwood. I sanded both sets smooth to 600 grit (used 80 grit to remove the points, then progressed through 120, 240, 320, 400, and 600), then polished with Flitz. Washed them down with Dawn dishsoap, and finally added a coat of Ren Wax. Image

They turned out pretty darned good, if you ask me! :D I wish the G10 was a brighter blue, as they're darker than I was hoping for (which makes it really hard to photograph with the blue showing well), but that's the way it goes. And yes, before anyone worries, I wet sanded the g10 under running water to prevent any nasty fiberglass dust.

Enjoy the pics!!! :spyder:

Thank you for the extremely kind compliment BTG! I don't agree with the feeble suggestion at all. I think your burl handles are beautiful. Nothing can create beauty quite like nature can IMO. Please keep posting them!

I am currently having some burls custom stabilized so that I can use them in some future Mule projects. So, I'll be making some burl handled Mules in the coming months as well. Since you obviously like to make these, the next time you do one, DM me and let's talk about your plan. Maybe I can offer some suggestions and help you learn to add an element to the handle that you've never done before.?. that is, if you'd be interested.. :D

Best regards,
Chad
