The blade itself feels actually about the same and the pivot area of course is not etched . The action is very smooth and drops nicely closing , not sloppy . Feels already broke in . I have done mods on old and newer clips and have found the older clips are more resistant to heat than newer clips . I have never had a problem with new clips using heat after stripping but get best results in look from the satin clips. The coating on Salt model clips have a different special coating and takes patience to remove . Once coating is removed the mod is very rewarding and unique since clip is Titanium. The blade should only be wiped down with an oil like WD40 , never use a polish paste , it will ruin the etching .

Such a cool shot! Etching was the way to go with those two.

ImageThe Stretch XL has been a big surprise for me . I gifted my last one so had to get another because I missed it so much . Shot taken on a freshly cut tree stump.

Wow Dan! You’ve got some great photos in this thread. I’ve been missing out. I really need to start checking these other sub forums besides the general. Keep up the great work!

I'm surprised how many regulars around here stick to the general stuff. We have a lot of fun in the off topic section as well! Probably a group of 20 of us or so, join us brother!

Hey Rick! I do partake occasionally there. But it’s dangerous territory. One minute I’m posting a pic, the next I’m scouring dealers to find stock and check prices 😂

I know right. Never the same thing twice either. But like I said above, pics are very dangerous for me. I’ve already located an ATR at a reasonable price, and am eyeballing a ManixXL…

You won’t regret the ATR2 , I wish they would come back out with a Sprint. The Cobra hood is great to use opens up with gloves very well .

I've always thought those Kiwis were great looking knives! Nice handles on that one Dan.
