What about the Microtechs!

That RAM-LOK is a serious contender to the CCBL, and their new MSI knife has RAM-LOK, the new M390MK steel (their "tweaked" version of M390), G-10, Titanium backspacers, and more importantly, REVERSIBLE pocket clips! The MSI dimensions are also eerily similar to the Manix 2 XL, has seriously nice chamfered and sculpted handles, all at the price of $250.

How awesome is that!
The new Microtech for $250 is very promising. The Benchmades are Meh, but, I don't care for Benchmade anyway.

It is promising indeed. New design, big blade, new super steel, titanium and G10 materials, ambidextrous everything all for $250. And made in the USA. All that in an inflation-addled economy. Makes me wonder how does the arguments of increased pricing defenders apply to Microtech, or those guys at MT didn't get the pricing memo.

I can't see the Benchmade Narrows being competition for the Sebenza, especially at the asking price. Personally, I think the discontinued Benchmade Anthem was better competition.

The Kershaw Livewire OTF and Launch 15 in Magnacut both have my attention. Benchmade has an interesting rollout too, but they are kind of pricey still, although the gap with Spydies is narrowing.

Did anyone else catch that silly broomstick spear made by both Cold Steel and SOG? Seems to be the first GSM product made in both flavors. Ridiculous, but definitely the mark of a new era.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

The 3V should be good. I'd prefer 4V but maybe that is asking too much for Benchmade. 3V in a dagger is OK though. I doubt that I can use the dagger, but it is a nice collectors piece. The auto Claymore I will use.
For SD, do you prefer 4v to 3v?

4v is my favorite steel, but I can see a real place for 3v in a SD knife. I own a 3v machete and it's fantastic (and probably better than 4v would be in the same piece).

If I was buying one of those Dawson Knives Praetorian Sword's 3V might be preferred but 4V has a lot of toughness and better edge retention. I think that I prefer 4V for everything if the general target is a 3V steel.

I have a Bark River 1V machete. The videos that I saw lead me to believe that it has a very good composition. Cuts through everything and does not deform. Now how sharp it stays I cannot answer but if you are trying to really take apart a tree, it seems to do a very decent job.

Spartan Blades is working on a Mangnacut full tang Ka-Bar for there gold line. Yeah, it will be crazy expensive, probably around 450-500, but what a knife.

I think I got the time stamp right . . . nope . . . about 15:20 mark of the clip.
