Yes, always. I looked and some things are not copyrighted any longer, but those that are are verboten. Thanks, I'm glad you clarified that.

Things like this are actually illegal if the book or other work is still under copyright protection. This could be costly to the people who maintain this site and potentially to users. Older works and public domain works are a different story. If the owner of this site were to rid the site of copyrighted material and focus on hard to find non-copyright protected material it would be far better for everyone.

However, there is a caveat. There are some countries where books are hard to get and people are kept from reading a lot of stuff. They have internet access and such a place could be valuable. Perhaps they should turn this site into a lending library?
