Christmas Trees: Real, artificial, none?

Do you have kids at home, Rusty?
Re: Christmas Trees: Real, artificial, none?
While I respect and appreciate the beauty and wonders of a real Christmas tree, my past years of traveling from one place to another (to include overseas a few times) dictated that an artificial tree was the way to go. Bought my first and only artificial Christmas tree back in December 1985 (Target special) and am still using it today.
It just makes more sense to me to put up and put away an artificial tree because you know what you got, you know what you'll have when Christmas comes around again, and you have one less thing to worry about for the season.

One of my dad's neighbors had a closet designated for his Christmas tree. Pull it out, plug it in, done. After the presents were opened, unplug the tree and put it back in the closet until the next year.

We used to go and cut one down every year at the local tree farm. The past few years it's been a 2ft lighted artificial tree.

Living in a tropical country, we've always set up artificial trees.
As a result of growing jaded and cynical, I haven't bothered to set up a tree for the past few years.
My daughter, who came home from college, asked me very nicely if we could set it up, and so we finally did this year.

Real...for now. We've always had real trees, but they're getting mighty pricey.

We're done with trees. The last one of any type was 8-10 years ago. My wife does some minimal decorating, which I really enjoy, but that's it. I love real trees, but not enough for the hassle anymore.
