G10 Handled Esees?

#1

Post by Foehammer »

Anyone have one of these? I have a contoured micarta Esee 4 and I love that thing, perfect size for game work and overall survival, bit too small to be a true survival knife. Its a bit slick tho especially when covered in an animal’s blood. Thinking about getting a 6 or another 4 with the g10 handles. Does anyone have any experience with the g10 handles? Are they grippier than the micarta found on the originals and the contoured? Thanks

This is one of my favorite knives for hiking. It's had several mountain trips since this picture.

I had a ESEE 6 with TKC G10 handles that was great . . . but alas the search for perfect lead me to sell it and try others. The TKC handles are grippy due to their contour and how it fills the hand.

Had the 4 first and sold it as the 4" blade was just to small. Of course that has not stopped me from buying other 4" blades and selling them as I find them to small too. In fact I am looking at a 4" blade now . . . maybe I should just pass . . .
