Show your Flowers and plants photo
Re: Show your Flowers and plants photo
Good pepper supply. I walk by a house that has a lone habanero plant and they let all the peppers go to waste on the vine...I was sad and I should have asked them if I could pick them.

They are the last I harvest. Habaneros and Jalapeños are long gone into Salsas . I dehydrate and blend to powder to make a seasoning for friends and a jar for myself.

Re: Show your Flowers and plants photo
i hope this isn't too off topic for this thread, but does anyone know more info about this knife? i did some research and found that it's a budding and grafting knife made by schrade in walden, ny sometime between 1946 and 1973. i know the model number is 190 and that the piece sticking out of the back is genuine ivory. it seems that, although the tang stamp has an almost 30 year range, this knife is fairly rare. i haven't been able to find out much more about it.
any green thumbs in this thread know how the knife was used or more details about its production? i've never done any grafting or budding of plants even, so i know nothing about it.
thanks in advance. i found the knife mixed in with a bunch of other knives and thought it was cool. i could tell it was more special than the rest of the assortment just by the fact that it was a vintage schrade made in the us, but i didn't expect that it would be so hard to find more about it and how it was used.

Re: Show your Flowers and plants photo
I would suspect it is an older version after looking at an old catalog. It is Ivory black listed as plastic . Worthpoint has some that were on eBay. Your blade looks good for age and think you found a nice vintage Schrade . I only have a US LB7 in collection had a few models years ago . Only one I miss was the Loveless .ladybug93 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 12:45 pmi hope this isn't too off topic for this thread, but does anyone know more info about this knife? i did some research and found that it's a budding and grafting knife made by schrade in walden, ny sometime between 1946 and 1973. i know the model number is 190 and that the piece sticking out of the back is genuine ivory. it seems that, although the tang stamp has an almost 30 year range, this knife is fairly rare. i haven't been able to find out much more about it.

Re: Show your Flowers and plants photo
thanks, guys. that's the stuff i found too when i was researching. i missed that it was originally less than $5. that's pretty cool. i'm not really worried about how much it's worth because i won't be getting rid of it. i'm mainly wondering how it's used.
i see the ivory piece is called a budding blade. not sure what that means. i guess i'll look into that separately.

Here is the sad pepper plant (I think habanero) I walk by. If they plant one next year I am going to ask them if they mind if I pick them when ready.
Re: Show your Flowers and plants photo
Not sure if it fits the "Flower and Plants" theme.
How about "Fruit and Plants?"
If it helps, I harvested all of it with a Manix 2 LW REX45.
