Tell your wife that is beautiful! Mine was a random flower in the bushes by our campsite at Congaree National Park.

Actually from my backyard, a Canna Lily planted on verge to my backyard swamp.

Wow our Cannas are only about a foot tall . We never see bloom’s until late Summer here . We did plant a Banana tree late last week , Hummingbirds love to perch on both when raining.

That one is usually over 4-5ft tall. The other colors seem to stay lower. It is almost the perfect climate for them here so they thrive up until a hard frost hits them.

We only have the reds to attract Hummingbird’s. They mature around same height in our area . I can’t believe how much water/ fluids are in them cutting down .

This one is pretty rare. It's only found in a small swath of mountains in Socal. It's cousin has been in bloom for a month. But this is the ONLY Calochortus weedii var. intermedium that I've seen so far this year. I couldn't help but stop for a picture.

3 years ago i bought this plant for my Girlfriend. She loves the flowers.
The second and third year it only made a few leaves we tried everything. Repotting with new soil, Feeding pellets , you name it it looked miserable.

Now gods knows why it finally started to grow again and now a few weeks later we have flowers and it looks like it is going to be fine. How a small thing as a plant can make a persons day so good.

We have Hydrangeas and all are grown in soil . They like acidic soil and some prefer partial shade . We usually cut back in fall for new growth in the Spring . Looks great Mr. Greenthumb ! Dan
