New Kershaw knives

#1

Post by bjz »

Has anyone around here checked out the new Kershaw cargo/debris mid-lock knives, or the deschutes caper fixed blade?

For a very long time I was basically a Kershaw and Gerber user…Gerber makes great river knives and I lived in portland so both brands dominated the market there (along with benchmade and leatherman). These days, I highly dislike assorted knives, flippers, thumb studs and integrated frame locks and the only Kershaw I have left in the house is an old skyline that’s sat nearly unused since my first Byrd/Spyderco found it’s way into the sock drawer.

These new unassisted mid-lock offerings are intriguing despite the thumb stud. If they were made in the Oregon facility I would check one out on principle. Being made oversees I’m having trouble prioritizing one of these over a Byrd or value line knife.

I’d love to hear what others have to say about these very user friendly offerings.

Cheers

I do have an interest in slip joint that recently came out . I had a Launch 7 but sold it . Nice knife but no safety was a turn off ( no pun intended ) . MG2

The USA made Federalist slip joint looks highly interesting.

Those two mid locks do look good. I was also curious why they didn't go with US production on them.
