Not exactly a bug or a critter but it seems relevant. I was out fishing this afternoon when I spotted it, I've never seen such a large one so close to the ground.

Looks like it is hanging over water ? If so I found one in the Shawnee National Forest years ago hanging n a limb over a pond . This one is much larger and better looking . Very nice find ! Dan

Yea it's right in the center of the stream maybe 6-7' from the surface, I was able to walk right up to it to take the photo.

Edit to add: This is an image taken from my GoPro footage earlier this year while out fishing and the dark clump in that shrub are honey bees, I've never seen them beard so close to the ground either.

That is cool to see. I had some honey bees do that in my backyard on a tree several years ago. The neighbor called a special service that helps them relocate.

OK, third try at posting this (in the right thread)...🙄

The neighborhood squirrel on my Jacaranda tree. Pic is blurry, partially because it was taken through my sliding glass door. It would've scampered off if I'd tried to go outside to take the pic. Probably wasn't even worth posting...😄
