That's awesome! We did a trip a few years ago. Flew into Vegas from Atlanta hit the Hoover Dam then about 7 National parks along a loop up to Utah and back down to Albuquerque. I did not want to come home. Love that area.

This is one of my favorite pics from Arches. I think it was Arches. They started to blend together.

These pictures are awesome ! I think I saw John Wayne movies with some of these spots! I would have to keep a picture diary if I went to 7 National Parks , that sounds like a trip in a lifetime . Dan

It was great. We do a national park tour every few years. Next year we are hitting California up to Oregon. I highly recommend the Utah parks though. They are incredible.

Today we were greeted by lightning, thunder and rain early in the morning. It mostly stayed away for the day but the La Sal range got some rain.
Woke up and went out front and saw a nice sunrise.

Drove my dad up to a trailhead for a mountain bike ride in Sand Flats Rec Area. 4x4 trails such as FIns N Things, Porcupine RIm are here. Lots of rain on La Sal mountains going on early:
goinguprainonlasal.JPG
After the drop and on the way back down on Sand Flats road there were good views. A little bit of rain goes a long way to green things up in the desert, plants respond near immediately.

Yep I like that there is starting to be a second rainbow above that main one. I like atmospheric effects and stuff.

Ok today was wet and rainy but we got out anyway. Took my parents up La Sal loop. It was dense fog going up but not on the other side. That made for some decent pics I felt of the landscape.

Right back into the desert. The colors today were pretty amazing.

Ok last full day in Moab, we rented a modified jeep and went a few places. Gemini Bridges trail was first. We went down a side trail for 2 arches.
bullcanyonarch1.JPG
bullcanyonarch2.JPG
We then did Bull Canyon and went to the Gemini Bridges view point that is below them:
Geminibridgesbelow.JPG
We got to the top and there is a full on wedding party going on there. I didnt get many pics from up top. This looks down into the canyon we were in before looking up at the arch, you can see the hiking path we took to it:
geminibridgestoptovalley.JPG
That's a dual arch there hence Gemini, the twins.
geminibridges.JPG
Its split down the center of it:
geminisplit.JPG
Once we got done there it was Dead Horse Point State Park time. My second time to this state park. Amazing views, and that road down there goes into Canyonlands park.
deadhorsept1.JPG
Then we went back to town for lunch but you pass by these 2 buttes: Merrimac (left) and Monitor (right).
mirramacandmonitorbutte.JPG
We then went and ran Fins N Things (watch videos it is an amazing big name trail) because I wanted some technical wheeling, no photos as it was mostly getting out checking lines to take and concentrating on the driving. Took a little over an hour to go 2 miles, so freakin fun!
All in all: If I'm honest, I really don't care to go see the Grand Canyon again I will keep going to Moab and never get bored. There is SO much in the area to do, see etc.
