Very cool Mike!

I took my youngest two to a cool spot this weekend. Looks to the North Georgia Mountains (foothills).

Did a really quick hike at dusk last night.
So here is one that is less about the landscape and more about the astronomical thing I caught in the sky: The terminator line between night and day, what I have always called the "belt of venus". Blue sky fades into the yellow, orange, pink etc of the sunset then the darkness of night just under that. It only lasts for a little bit just after the sun is below the horizon. I think it is beautiful.

Mine are just a bit different as I'm generally a creature of the night...
Out messing around last time I was fishing.

And here is one of my favorite parts of coming here, looking for and finding petroglyphs on the rocks.

These are the kinds I like to find, they are not marked you just run across them in random spots.

This is the birthing stone. It was a popular stone to draw on in ancient times.

I think you are taking the same path we did a few years ago. Where did you start and what is the end point Troutin?

Thanks, I like working with an actual camera vs my stupid old phone.

@JSumm, Arches Ntl Park is a one way in one way out, but the Birthing Stone and the other glyphs are from Kane Creek road going back to Hurrah Pass/Chicken Corners.

More Arches Park stuff:
Picture Frame Arch (left of center). It had a rock fall a few years back and so this has gotten thinner across the top there. Probably wont last much longer however there are new arches forming. There are 2 more arch holes to the right up top.
picture frame arch.JPG
A cool balanced rock, it isn't the main "balanced rock" in the park. But cool regardless.
balanceact.JPG
This wall has an arch forming in it at the bottom.
