Great photos, Mike!
That waterfall in the canyon shot is really cool! Do you know if that one is seasonal? If so, it’s probably one of the lesser seen waterfalls in the park.
Speaking of canyons in Georgia, I really want to visit Providence Canyon State Park. It’s such a surreal looking landscape and I’d love hike around it for myself. If I ever make it to a Blade show in Atlanta, that would be the perfect time to visit.

Here's one from a hike on snowshoes on Sunday. We've been having a mid winter thaw for the past few days, but snow is still pretty deep in the timber. That's the Missouri River in view.
Because desolate places allow us to breathe. And most people don't even know they're out of breath.

I'll admit a bit of envy, we've gotten all the way up to the 40s the past couple days, and I'm really looking forward to warm sunsets by a lake not covered with ice.

Looks sweet Salty. My in-laws recently sold their place on Lake Lanier. For years it was a sanctuary for our kids to go for the summer. Mixed feelings on it, but life moves on. Those getaway places are something special and memory builders.

Yes. That one is very seasonal. Even the main ones run pretty dry in the summer. Winter/spring are the best seasons for a lot of the waterfalls in the area.

Heard…but never experienced a frozen lake especially one I could drill a hole in and catch some fish!!! But I’m sure I’d tire of the temps…heck I’d be happy to just see some real snow occasionallyWandering_About wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 9:25 pmI'll admit a bit of envy, we've gotten all the way up to the 40s the past couple days, and I'm really looking forward to warm sunsets by a lake not covered with ice.
