I feel like like I have said this before, but that is a great one Mike. Seriously.

Thank you! It's ice, it froze on after a heavy fog.

Beautiful Mike , was these falls a long hike to get to them ? I’ve always wondered how accessible your shots of falls are off the beaten path . Dan

Bad storms came through Atlanta. Everything is yellow now. Pictures don't do it justice. Reminds of Tampa.

Yeah the kids enjoyed watching it out the window. All I could think of was my truck.

This one happens to only be about 3/4 mile on an established National Forest Trail but a bit steep on the way out.

I go to all the waterfalls no matter what's in the way. Some are roadside and some push 20 miles on foot. Some are on nice trails and some require swimming, rappelling, rock/ice climbing. Some are in the center of towns and some times there are 100 mile stretches of logging roads and jeep trails.

My goal for the states I focus on most is to digitally map and photograph every waterfall that has ever been historically named. In the course of that I occasionally even find new ones and my favorites are the "lost" waterfalls...the ones that have had the trails wiped by weather events and never replaced. The ones where all that's left is a brief mention in an old guidebook or an old postcard photo from over a hundred years ago.

I just visited 117 waterfalls in December across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont in a 12 day stretch so there will be plenty of winter pictures coming soon. :winking-tongue

Here is another one just for the heck of it.
Lower Meigs Falls, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee.

Sunset from this evening. There's lots of wide open spaces out here.

We keep getting small layers of snow, so this is accumulation over the past maybe two or three weeks. I'm fine with the drifts as long as they stay mini!

Went for a drive yesterday evening to get out and about for a while. We've had freezing fog lately which made for great frost.
