Woah!! That's a beauty! Never seen those scales before.
Thanks Rick! It’s a unique graphic. Got it at SoonerStateKnives. I have got to quit scrolling his site.
That looks great! I don't normally like the unique graphics, but that one is an exception.

That is a dangerous site, the small 21 with damascus and Bocote inlays has been tempting me for weeks. Just not the right timing for me to spend that kind of money, and I don't have anything significant in the collection I'm willing to sell to offset it!

Hey all,

I'm looking to find a CRK with a specific DOB, what's my best bet for doing that?

It is a very recent date (within April) so I'm hoping a retailer will pop up with one. The only two I've found that list the DOB for their in-stock inventory are Southern Edges and GPKnives. Any other leads?

Bladeforums has a specific date request thread that you could post in. But April 9, 2022 was a Saturday and there might not be one in existence. I would also try calling a few places too. Kenny at SoonerStateKnives will check for you and he gets new inventory pretty regular. Dan at PlazaCutlery helped me locate a specific variation too. Try giving them a call.

Thanks for the tips. And yea I didn't think about that. If it's off by a day then it should be good enough.

Yeah man, like PS said, that was a Saturday. I also think they only work Monday-Thursday also, but I could be wrong.

You could be right. So far I haven't found any built on a Friday in April. I've put out feelers to several dealers, so we'll see.

EDIT: Just checked the Chris Reeve website, and they list Monday through Thursday as their hours of operation. Now I need to decide the next-best date. :thinking

I only have 5. But I checked all the build dates. No Friday, Sat, or Sundays. I have one for every other day.

I’d have to say no. My plain jane large 31 in s35vn would be it. But with that said, I would put my Advocate above the Sebenza as an only keep one knife choice. It’s usually a toss up which one of those two I pocket each morning.

I'm not a tanto guy (if that's a thing), but have been curious to try a CRK tanto. When a Large Inkosi popped up for $400, I figured I'd give it a go. I had just sold my large BCM Insingo (again), so third time is the charm?

What's a BCM Insingo? I'm also glad I'm not a tanto guy myself...saves some cash! Cool of you to give it a go though, interested in what you think after spending some time with it.

Black Canvas Micarta. Sorry, I was trying to be one of the cool kids with the acronym :zipper

My initial impression is "fun!", but we'll see. It showed up dull and was a breeze touching up a tanto on the Sharpmaker for the first time. I was originally thinking tanto Zaan, but this one was available and a good price.

Hahaha, all good! I thought maybe it was some kind of distributor exclusive or something I hadn't seen/heard about.

I tried sharpening a friend at works gas station tanto blade once, but it was a nightmare with terribly uneven grinds and the blade was also a little bent. I was excited to give it a try and see how I did, but that knife wasn't worth the effort. Pretty sure you didn't encounter those issues on a CRK!

I always get a nervous feeling when I see alerts for this thread, that I may make a rash and expensive decision...and of course immediately check out whatever site was mentioned haha!
