I just got my first glass blast, and I have to say it is very nice. It does lend to a more modern, updated look for CRK, and I think a non-knife-knut would be drawn to it it's sleekness over the standard. However, seeing the wood inlays without the polished handles/blade is kinda odd for me, and I do like how grippy the sand blast is. I think I still prefer the standard blast if only because it is iconic CRK. Somehow the glass blast just seems more "pedestrian" if that makes any sense.
I like the look of the glass blast... Would you say it less prone to snail trails than the sand blast?
Yes, the consensus is that it hides the wear better. I thought about sending in my Zaan a few times to get glass blasted, but wiping away years of hard earned snail trails just seems wrong, like burning old photos or something lol.

It is one part of the reason why I like plain titanium handles. I enjoy the tale they tell.

Yeah, when I got this one, I really wanted Micarta inlays. I also wanted some well worn Titanium that was easy to clean too. Just that plain jane look and feel in use with all the signs of wear. I still want one with inlays, but I do not regret one bit getting this one.

I rarely carry this one. I just put it in a bucket with keys, rocks, and fingernail clippers and shook it around a bunch.

I've found that fingernail clippers are definitely the secret ingredient! :rofl

It's funny how lighting can almost hide the snails, or make them looks worse than they are. This is even more true with polished handles. I think the glass blast reflects light differently, which hides the snails better. Most of my CRK have inlays, but this PJ raindrop looks especially great after a lot of pocket time IMO! The ol'sandblast seems to take a little color from blue jeans just like the micarta does.

I guess I'll add to Rick's teaser pic ;)

There's a chance you'll see more of that exact build come through Recon1 before they get around to your order. My understanding is that the wait times are so long mostly because they prioritize dealers first. Recon1 loves ordering the double gold lugs. This one has been in the pocket the last couple days... But walking the dogs after work in the dark doesn't make for great pics like summer camping does.

HA! I meant that one is from a summer camping trip, not recent.

Thanks guys. This is my only outlet for photography and I enjoy it very much. If you want me to tone it down I gladly will... I realize this thread is full of my pictorial musings :zany

As a side note, my Samsung Galaxy S10 is four years old and will stop getting updates this year, so a new camera is on the horizon. At this point it looks like the Pixel7 is the one to get, but I'm going to wait to see what the S23 brings.

Don't you tone it down. Spyderco may buy you a camera if you ask nicely. I mean you are individually responsible for at least 50 Stretch XL Cruwear sales at least.

In addition to the Insingo and Tanto, the first confirmed Magnacut drop points were in stock this week, both Small and Large Sebenzas.

Still no Magnacut Inkosi or Umnumzaan of any blade shape I'm aware of.
