Hahaha, too funny that I just mentioned them a few minutes ago!! That's actually exactly what I'm looking for...I just don't like the blue thumb studs on that particular knife! Saves me $505 though.

If you get one, please post pictures.
Finding that one in stock was mostly luck.

I’m going to have to take it apart and lube it up bc it’s dry as a bone. Just like all the others before it. I guess they really want you to use that grease they include.

Same here, all 4 I've had the out of the box action was HORRIBLE. Probably the worst of any knives I've had. Thankfully they are also the easiest to take apart and maintain!

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
I took delivery of a small in MC yesterday as well, and it's stiff just like the large was. After a few cycles it's already feeling better. The large broke in very nice and benefited from a slight reduction in lock bar pressure. I typically let them break in a while as they came from the factory, and then clean and lube with Nano Oil as I prefer the flickability over the fluoro grease. I think of it like the 500 mile oil change after buying a new motor to get the initial metal wear out.
Jumped on the small in natty micarta because I didn't think I'd be able to snag a small in the same PJ config as my large, but it should be here tomorrow. Trying to decide which to keep before I cut off the rat tail.
Still too early to tell, but MC has been great so far, and just "feels" better. Probably all in my head but I know I never liked the feel of S35vn and this feels more like the tool steels I know and love. The factory edge was better than usual for CRK on both of these as well, making me think it's more a reflection of the steel than their process (which probably didn't change). Hoping to reprofile the large soon to my standard and get a baseline for my experience. Right now it still plenty sharp after daily use for a few weeks and some hard wood carving while camping.

I know a guy that would be interested in that small, if you choose to let it go...seriously.

Re: Chris Reeve Knives
I'm not sure why things like that have stuck around this long, its got to be from old timers. but, that's not really a thing... not with new cars (no one changes their oil that early and its not recommended by the manufacturer), nor with the engines I build, I've never recommended that on a single one.
edit* I have cut open several filters from first oil changes on brand new cars at the first service interval and never found lots of metal flakes, nor have I on rebuilt engines. (now this has pretty much been Toyota/lexus and honda/acura engines)
same with knives, they will break in, not immediately
but they will... have patience.
