Hello everyone,

I'm now watching womens downhill Race in Lake Louis.
Skiing is practically the national sport in Austria ;-)
Anyone here also interested in FIS World Cup Races?

No surprise: Sure, since I am Austrian too as you know... ;)

Only sports we are actually really world class in, or even worlds best in many seasons...
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I don´t own a TV either (actually never did), but of course can remember the great duels between "your" Alexis Pinturault and "our" Marcel Hirscher.

I like watching alpine racing too! I played ice hockey from 9 to 16 years of age, and then refereed until around 20. Then I went to Aspen, Colorado for two weeks to go skiing with a buddy of mine that I used to race sailboats with. He worked at Aspen, so I was on the mountain skiing at either Aspen or Snowmass 8+ hrs a day. I raced everywhere I went and got chased a few times!!! They don't like it when you go straight down the mountain face as fast as the skis will take you but it is quite exhilarating.

It's always a pleasure of mine during winter time. I don't care much for summer sports but just watching (without much knowledge on the matter) is really satisfying !

I've only done skiing in the Alps, Vosges and Jura at pretty low level of skill. More like high speed hikes :grin-smiling-eyes
