No doubt that's exactly the same design. I wonder if it's a licensed thing or just eff you we'll help ourselves to that?

I've seen lots of other maker use wire clips, as well. I have no idea if it infringes on any patent.

Yeah, knives under other brand names coming out of one of those european factories use wire clips as well. Of course spyderco has had colabs with a few of the brands coming out of that area.

The fox knives pelican most definitely uses the same wire clip.

Doubt the idea could have been or was ever patented by Spyderco. Even if it was, their first knife with a wire clip was the Q and that was 20+ years ago. So, assuming the design was patented, the patent would have expired.

I don't even think it's worth worrying about. I love my Kabars and Beckers, but the BK40 is a huge disappointment and will probably be discontinued before long.

I'm more concerned about copies of entire knife designs. Tell me this doesn't look like an elongated Yojimbo 2.
