cheap Chinese Gold Monkey straight razor.
I guess it's true that you get what you pay for. I bought several hundred Egyptian blades because they were super cheap and the reviews said they were among the best. I quickly threw them all in the trash.

It's true, especially in razors. Someone gave me this one. It was brand new and not worth a poot.

It's much more aggressive, right?
You have the AL version?

I prefer the Astra as they are smoother.
Maybe at the next blade change I try the Feather again.

For me, it takes a couple of shaves for the Feather to really reach its smoothest. The same for Nacet blades.

I got out my James Bond Gillette Slim today. I decided I wanted to see how it shaved at the upper numbers and maybe I'd get a better shave. This razor can give me serious irritation at the lower numbers. So, today I did a 6 with a Nacet blade. Everything went well. No irritation, but a couple of spots weren't as close as I'd like. Tomorrow I will do a 7, then an 8 and a 9 will follow. We will see if I still have a face.

I think 7 is my sweet spot. 8 was okay, also. 9 got me some irritation and a weeper. That won't do.

Now, I've gotten out my 1946-1949 Gillette Gold Tech Fat Handle. I put a Nacet in it and, as expected, I got a great shave.

I am still waiting on my brushes. Why is USPS and the Netherlands post office so slow? The Pony Express was faster.

Well, my Shavemac Butterscotch Silvertip Fibre brush has cleared customs. It should be in my hands in a couple of days! Woo hoo!

Here it is! Shavemac 28mm Silvertip Fibre knot with butterscotch handle.

I used it today. Wow! What a great brush! It is my favorite after just one use.

It is a lot better than my G5A. I love this brush. Out of all of the brushes I have or have had, this is hands down my favorite. I expect my Rudy Vey will likewise be a favorite since it uses the same knot fibers, but is 25mm instead of 28mm.

That lavender smells like heaven. It is really good.

I can't say enough about how good Bernd Blos of Shavemac and Rudy Vey of RV Shaving were to work with. I'll buy more from them, guaranteed.

My Rudy Vey custom brush with the 25mm Muhle Silvertip Fiber knot came today! I haven't used it, but I did wash it. My wife got this for me as a gift for our upcoming anniversary (still a few months off). Rudy was very fast! He was on this project like a duck on a June Bug. Anyway, apologies for the terrible pictures, They don't do this beautiful brush justice, at all.

This stuff is like the softest silvertip badger ever. The tips are like kitten fur. Really nice. The brush makes you want to use it. Rudy Vey was originally from Germany or Austria. He is married and lives in New Jersey. He does custom pens and custom brushes. He made the handle, turned it, polished it, etc. He installed a Muhle STF knot. Fantastic brush.

I also like my Muehle brush.
Yes it’s on the soft side.
My favorite is a Boker brush.

Let is sit in water for 30 min. will improve the quality of the shave much.
