I gave the Salt 2 (the boat knife in this thread that saved my deposit) to my brother this summer, because we were fishing, and he only has a Para 3 I gave him a few years ago (can knives feel lonely?)

I have the N5 salt x2 and a Caribbean Vacation… errr leaf blade PE.

LC200N is my most used steel for the last 3 years. I think the N5 is the best platform for LC200N (for me.) I do like Caribbean Vacation (that’s what I am gonna call it) but when I am fishing all day and I might lose something… I like the Caribbean too much to lose it.

LC200N and ABE-L = easiest steels I’ve ever sharpened to razors edge.

Biggest perk, knowing the Gulf of Mexico will not rust my knife. Take that Gulf or Mexico!

JSumm, what’s your jam on LC200N? How do you like it?
Was never a space cadet, but with LC200N I might be more in space than a cadet.

Question for the members of our most noble order.
Do we want a knife designed for “Sock Carry”?
What knives are already good “SC”?

Well I don't have any, but I love the Endura. So I was planning on getting the Pac Salt 2 in LC200N. I may hold off and get the teal Endura in S30V while it is still $90 at Knife Joy then get the Pac Salt 2 later since it will be around. Or I may like the Pac Salt so much I could forget about the Teal S30V. I don't know.

I grew up around the Gulf. She does hold special memories. And knives.

As a newer member, with only one Spyderco knife at a time in my sock drawer, I observed a surprising phenomena:

In the morning all the socks (maybe 9 pair) are snuggled up around the knife.

I don’t know what to make of this, except that maybe more knives are needed in the drawer?

Now to sort-of answer your questions:

Yes, we want a knife for “sock carry”.

What knife? That depends on the sock style perhaps?

A LW, with clip removed?

A knife long enough to “rest” on the shoe top?

I might need a Police, the Creature from Lake Sinclair is having a growth spurt..

I think my top SC choice would be a Caly Jr. I will try socking it tomorrow to make sure.

What's your proposal for SC?

The lightweight knives do well for SC.
Maybe Spyderco will make a lightweight Yojimbo.

I have posted my set up with a Kiwi . Everyone will have some different opinion and that’s what we are all about . My reasoning using the Kiwi was strictly for a back up when things go very bad . Discreetly hidden , unassuming . Others. It appears go larger for a different role of usage , and that is a neat idea too . I really like the cyclist legging I may look deeper into a set up with something light in a 3 inch size blade . 0002

I think FRN scales. G10 may unintentionally cause a rash or blister. FRN although grippy is quite warm and welcoming in the sock band. No smaller than a 3" blade.

The Kapara would feel extra cozy, but I think it may be too slick. I wouldn't trust it in the sock band.

I’ve been looking at the Caribbean , how does it feel in hand compared to a PM2 ? The Siren is more my style but waiting for the CQI version to come out . Afraid I may get a clunker with stock out in the wild . Like Jeff want to try this steel after I am done with the Pacific Salt project .

Hmm. I'm probably going to get another one of those Tri-Blend t-shirts. I like how light they are and the mixed color instead of solid. Good fit too. Curious how they will hold up long-term.
