What's your breakfast?
Re: What's your breakfast?
Handful of almonds is a must, maybe with a banana and/or yogurt. No time for fancy breakfast and I was never hungry in the morning anyway.
On the weekends we'll get out the eggs and sausage and make a proper breakfast. Kodiak Cakes FTW!
Seriously if you haven't had Kodiak Cakes give it a try

For too many decades I fell for the carbohydrate breakfast foisted on the US public. I never felt better until I dumped carbs as they are the worst food you can consume. For breakfast it’s usually a medium protein, low carb affair. I should make eggs every day, but I’m lazy. Fish would be better yet, but I just can’t eat fish before noon.

You could go full 1950's casino breakfast and eat a steak, fried eggs, and bloody mary with cocktail shrimp in the AMJRinFL wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 7:17 pmFor too many decades I fell for the carbohydrate breakfast foisted on the US public. During the week I typically just have coffee and a couple of granola bars. I should start making some eggs and sausage in the morning!

Re: What's your breakfast?
I try! I used to not eat breakfast, but I have to have something now. Coffee is a given. If I don't have that it will not be a good day!Sharp Guy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 11:26 amSounds like you're eating GOOD!!! :) Jalapeños are a staple in our house lolsoc_monki wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 3:20 amYesterday I made waffles, since we just bought a huge jug of maple syrup from the Amish store. Today I'm having my usual weekday breakfast. Scrambled eggs with chorizo, jalapeños, Colby jack cheese, sour cream and salsa. I should have taken a picture, but I guess I can do that tomorrow and post it since I do tend to eat this every morning, more or less.
Might not have jalapeños tomorrow, I just finished them off. Lol
I'm off to work fairly early Monday-Friday. So I'm usually out the door with a cup of coffee and and a banana (or some other fruit) in my bag. Might have something else for a snack in there as well. Lunch is usually pretty light too. I don't like eating too much while at work. We'll do breakfast for dinner occasionally or in the mornings on the weekend. We have a couple places by our house that do a wonderful breakfasts

Re: What's your breakfast?
I would prolly echo Spydergirl88
Especially having breakfast for supper some nights.
I think that might be a southern thing
I'll make gravy and biscuits for sure. Tenderloin and or pork chop gravy is my favorite. Bacon gravy is awful good too. Most people lole sausage gravy I think but, not me. Anyways, I'll also scramble some eggs too. That and pickled beets.

Lol, yes.
I've gotta be honest, a lot a people I know have made it but, we never messed with it.
My mom always used to make and now I do on special occasions, Hershey's Rich Cocoa Fudge. But, as my mom did, I add some peanut butter and, it's just wonderful imo.

Peanut butter? GENIUS! Can't believe I never thought of it! I add a spoonful of peanut butter to homemade hot chocolate... Should have figured it would be good in chocolate gravy too!MacLaren wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 6:30 amLol, yes.

Gonna tell the wife to make it this weekend and we'll experiment!

But, that's for Hershys Rich Cocoa Fudge.
But, I'm sure it would be awesome in chocolate gravy too!
P.S. if ya wanna start making that Fudge, pm me and I'll give a good tip. It's a recipe that at first is super hard to make. You can very easily get it too hard or soft and grainy. But, when done right, I've never had better Fudge anywhere bro.
Re: What's your breakfast?
Do y'all prefer pancakes and waffles with fruit mixed in the batter or cooked fruit poured on top after the pancakes/waffles are cooked? I prefer the latter. I love making blueberry or strawberry compote for pancakes

Re: What's your breakfast?
As a kid I was in love with chocolate chip pancakes. Now I'm happy with just plain pancakes with some butter and maple syrup. Blueberries are a welcome addition though!Spydergirl88 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 12:22 pmDo y'all prefer pancakes and waffles with fruit mixed in the batter or cooked fruit poured on top after the pancakes/waffles are cooked? Re: What's your breakfast?
During the week it is usually just coffee for breakfast (I combine Keto and intermittent fasting).
On weekends the breakfasts are usually big, with lots of bacon, eggs, tomato, low carb toast etc (I am not Aussie-born, but I recently developed a taste for Vegemite... )
