OU is getting imo, the best defensive guy in the Country. And, what OU has really needed is defense.
And if I'm not mistaken, the last time OU won the National Championship was with Bob Stoops. And that was all defense winning that National Championship.
That defense that year was absolutely incredible.
Imo, OU should be happy. Things could really turn out great for them!!

Well, Alabama spanked Georgia and sent them home cryin' to momma. We'll see, but I think that puts Bama back as #1. Plus, they won the SEC title. GA is going down in the rankings for certain.
HaHa, scoreboard's a witch. One of them will be #1, and the other will be 2 or 3. A couple of underdogs will try to take out the big bad SEC teams but Alabama and Georgia will probably have their rematch for the NC. I like it.

I have no dog in this fight. I’ll probably just root for the underdog in each game. Should be some good ones though.

I was kind of hoping Oklahoma would play Clemson in a bowl game for the intrigue factor. It will be OU vs UO down in San Antonio though. I have only complained about cheating refs once in my life. That was against Oregon. Yes, I do hold a grudge.

It will be good to see Bob Stoops coach one more game.

Alabama is #1, again. Not sure why Notre Dame and Cincinnati are ranked below Michigan.

Yeah, they are both great teams. I am not saying Michigan isn't. I just don't think they are getting enough credit. Michigan is only #2 because the #1 and #2 teams got beaten and AL moved down to #3 for a while. I'd like to see them really get tested in a fight for their survival and then we'd know.

What???
Michigan won the Big10
Michigan defeated Ohio State
Cincinnati and Notre Dame who they defeat?
Neither one could make it in the Big10 imo.
Michigan lost only 1 game hy 4 points to Michigan State.

It looks like new head coach for Oklahoma, Brent Venables, has traveled deep into SEC country and poached an Offensive Coordinator from Ole Miss. Jeff Lebby looks like good one. Does this mean Arch Manning could become a Sooner?

That would be pretty cool!
Man, watch out for OU!!
OU with a stingy defense will compete every year for the National Championship imo.

We’ll see. I think most of the Sooner faithful were just hoping to avoid a disaster. I think OU has at least done that.

There really hasn’t been any talk of who the new Defensive Coordinator might be. Speculation is that he is probably still coaching for one of the teams in the football playoffs. Further speculation is that the Dan Lanning smoke from a week ago could be a real fire. Even with my crimson glasses on, I am not sure why he would leave Georgia for the same position with the Sooners.

Imo, the best thing yall can do is support the **** outta Brent Venables. He is the real deal imo.
I mean who else can really handle Alabama the way he did? I realize Dabo is Dabo but, Venables I believe is that good man. We shall certainly see though.

Speaking of Alabama, if they're offensive line continues to play like they did against UGA, then they'll smoke everyone in that playoff imo.
My goodness they looked so good.

In 2006 Oklahoma played Oregon. They were coached by Bob Stoops and Mike Bellotti respectively. It was a game that witnessed the biggest cheating by refs in College Football history. Oregon attempted an onside kick. They were offsides, they touched the ball before ten yards, and Oklahoma recovered the ball. The PAC 10 refs gave the ball to Oregon.

Stoops and Bellotti are no longer coaches at these schools. But both schools lost their coaches this year and both Stoops and Bellotti have stepped in as interim coaches to coach for their former Universities in the Alamo Bowl against each other.

Edit** I tried to confirm that Bellotti was going to coach the Ducks but only found that he offered to coach. My original source was dirtburglars.com https://www.dirtburglars.com/forum/spor ... post915310

I hate it when refs are so obviously for one side, even if it is my side. I want fair games. I saw one such play in the Alabama/Auburn game this year that was so blatantly obvious even the announcers commented on it.
